Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Staff Applications Scientist to advance metrology solutions and lead research projects in X-ray and CD-SAXS for advanced semiconductor nodes. The role involves developing new applications, documenting procedures and collaborating with partners worldwide.

The candidate will travel to domestic and international sites, contribute to patent work, and produce technical publications while delivering expert support to customers and training teams.

Qualifications

• PhD or higher in a relevant science or engineering field.
• Experience with software modeling, statistics and data analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive metrology solutions development to address customer needs.
• Initiate design, development and execution of scientific research projects.
• Collaborate on XRAY solutions from the Applications Development side.
• Support high level applications of complex measurement systems in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Publish technical papers and train customers on topics; travel to domestic/international locations.
