Position: Applications Engineer

We are seeking an Applications Engineer to support Skyworks' customers and internal teams (Sales, Marketing, and Design) with our leading Wi-Fi radio components. This role offers a unique perspective on the product lifecycle, from initial design to integration into mass-produced customer products. It involves both customer-facing and internal technical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support through in-depth product knowledge to sales staff and customers.
• Support design teams with specifications, testing, and datasheet generation based on customer application needs.
• Test newly designed components, support sales and marketing teams with technical expertise, and assist customers in using Skyworks components in their products, including reviewing and debugging their designs.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree + 8 years, Master's degree + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years of experience.
• At least five years of radio hardware design or testing experience.
• Strong understanding of RF circuit theory and RF system parameters such as noise figure and linearity.
• Proficiency with RF measurements and test equipment.
• Experience with automation of measurements and data analysis.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, comfortable working with customers and internal teams.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of Wi-Fi physical layer, especially the air interface.
• Ability to create Python scripts.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical base pay range in the U.S. is USD $112,500 - $215,900 annually. Starting pay depends on experience, skills, education, and location. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, and performance-based incentives and awards.
