Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Staff Application Software Engineer (Contractor) to design and implement complex software for robotic-assisted surgery products. You will ramp up quickly, integrate with an existing team, and deliver production-ready code within weeks, following Agile practices.

You will work with engineering teams to ensure safe, robust, and user-friendly application software, applying SDLC processes, reviews, unit tests, and documentation, while communicating progress and key

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or CS with 4+ years of experience.
Proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented programming in a production environment.
Experience with Qt/QML, Linux, and Docker is preferred.

Responsibilities

Quickly understand existing architecture, codebase, and development workflows.
Independently design and develop application software components per defined requirements and architecture.
Collaborate with Project Management and engineers to ensure project success as a technical team member.
Follow SDLC procedures to ensure software quality through code review, unit and component tests, code analysis, and defect management.
Author software engineering documentation following R&D procedures per the Quality Management System.
Clearly communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions.
