Job summary

Remitian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the API surface for the Platform team. You will shape API design, versioning, and developer experience and work across data models, services, and developer-facing surfaces.

This role builds API products used by accounting firms, payroll providers, and platforms. Based in Florida with a preferred Miami location, you’ll join a hybrid schedule and lead important platform systems in production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer with production systems at scale.
• Proven experience building API products consumed by external developers or partners.
• Strong experience using AI tooling to ship features.
• Based in Florida or willing to relocate, with preference for Miami.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and evolution of the public API, including versioning, pagination, and auth.
• Lead platform architecture decisions and shape engineering standards.
• Build and ship features across the stack, from data models to developer surfaces.
• Ensure reliability, security, and production operability of platform services.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team collaboration.
• Partner with product, design, and leadership to scope and deliver work.
