Job summary

MCG Health is expanding its Synapse Everywhere API platform. We seek a Staff Software Development Engineer to shape the external API surface, manage scalability, security posture, and developer experience for partners.

You will collaborate with the Director of Software Engineering in a high-ambiguity environment and drive architectural decisions. You will combine AI-assisted and human-owned development, mentor teammates, and contribute to reliability, monitoring, and modern infrastructure design

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Designing or operating public or partner-facing APIs
• Experience building tests across all layers (unit to live verification)

Responsibilities

• Establish yourself as the go-to engineer for hard problems
• Lead API surface decisions and external guarantees
• Own technical discovery and translate requirements into feasible contracts
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive reliability improvements
