Job summary

Yum! Brands is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own both hands-on Android development and technical leadership for our restaurant technology platform.

You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and apply AI tooling to improve development practices across a global footprint, including peer-to-peer replication and real-time syncing. The role emphasizes setting technical direction, reviewing design and code, and ensuring robust testing and reliability of consumer-facing and enterprise apps

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on experience building robust mobile software with strong Android experience.
• Expert knowledge of the Android SDK and modern Android concepts (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose).
• Published native Android apps in portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the Android platform.
• Architect and implement MVVM patterns and testing strategies.
• Own performance and reliability for an always-on app used in tens of thousands of restaurants worldwide.
• Collaborate with product management and other teams to align on technical direction and delivery risks.
