Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer - AI & Agentic Systems to secure AI-enabled apps, LLM integrations and agentic workflows. You will help define secure design patterns, conduct threat modeling and guide teams on secure development.

As a senior contributor, you will shape security controls across identity, data protection, observability, and governance for AI environments, partnering with AI platform, engineering, product, and data teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, building, or securing enterprise-scale applications and platforms.
• 5+ years of application security including threat modeling and secure design.
• 5+ years programming in Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or Go.
• 3+ years developing or securing AI, machine learning, or generative AI.
• 3+ years with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain application and AI security standards.
• Promote secure-by-design across lifecycles.
• Define secure patterns for AI agents, prompts, and workflows.
• Review architectures using large language models and AI pipelines.
• Define identity, data protection, observability and governance controls for AI.
• Collaborate with AI platform, engineering, product, and data teams to ensure secure adoption.
• Perform threat modeling, architecture reviews, and security assessments.
• Lead security collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding and AI security practices.
