Job summary

WRITER is seeking a Staff Detection and Response Engineer to protect our AI infrastructure, train data, and model deployments. You will build sophisticated detection systems and automated responses to scale with our growth, defending AI/AGI systems against evolving adversaries.

You will translate threat intelligence into real-time detections, coordinate incident response across teams, and hunt for threats across distributed training environments.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response in production AI/ML infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, KQL, SPL or similar languages to build detection logic and automate response.
• Experience with SIEM platforms, detection technologies, and forensics in complex distributed environments.
• Self-directed with a track record of securing high‑value IP and proactive threat hunting.
• Deep alignment with WRITER's values: cross‑team collaboration, accountability, and staying ahead of evolving threats.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement detection strategies for AI-specific threats across distributed infrastructure.
• Build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows to contain threats with minimal human intervention.
• Lead security incident response coordination across Cloud, AppSec, Enterprise, and AI Security teams.
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure; identify visibility gaps before exploitation.
• Develop detection‑as‑code frameworks with version control and automated deployment.
• Collaborate as the operational security partner for all teams, translating threat research into production detections.
• Maintain 24/7 on‑call rotation for critical AI security incidents and continuously improve defenses.
