Job summary

WRITER is seeking a staff detection and response engineer to protect the AI infrastructure and safeguard enterprise-scale deployments. You will design detection strategies, build automated responses, and coordinate incident response across security, Cloud, and AI teams.

This role combines hands-on security engineering with strategic threat-hunting, translating threat intelligence into real-time detections while advancing a defense-in-depth strategy with researchers and engineers.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response in production environments securing AI/ML infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, KQL, SPL, or similar languages.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and forensic investigations in distributed environments.
• Self-directed with track record of securing high-value IP and automating incident response.
• Aligned with WRITER values and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement detection strategies for AI-specific threats across distributed infrastructure.
• Build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows to contain threats.
• Lead security incident response coordination across Cloud, AppSec, Enterprise, and AI Security teams.
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure.
• Develop detection-as-code frameworks with version control and dashboards for security metrics.
• Collaborate as operational security partner across teams to translate threat research into detections.
• Maintain 24/7 on-call rotation for critical AI security incidents.
