CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Search / AI to lead architecture and delivery of scalable, cloud‑native microservices with AI capabilities. You will blend hands‑on engineering with technical leadership to build distributed systems, set standards, and drive performance with reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering (design, development, testing, deployment)
• 5+ years building enterprise‑scale cloud‑native applications (GCP, Azure, or AWS)
• 5+ years programming in Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go
• 3+ years designing microservices architectures
• 2+ years integrating AI/ML solutions (LLMs, RAG)
• 2+ years distributed systems at scale (resiliency, fault tolerance)
• Experience with Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong observability, logging, monitoring, and production support

Responsibilities

• Drive enterprise architecture and microservices‑based design with AI platform engineering
• Design and develop scalable microservices, APIs, domain services, event‑driven systems
• Lead AI/ML integration including LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks
• Develop scalable data pipelines for real‑time and batch processing
• Enable AI‑powered capabilities like intelligent search and recommendations
• Lead search algorithm development using Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr</li>
• Drive CI/CD adoption and DevOps practices with GitHub, Jenkins, CircleCI, Harness
• Ensure reliability, observability and performance across platforms
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to deliver scalable solutions
• Lead design reviews, define best practices for microservices and API contracts
• Drive responsible AI governance and production readiness
