Job summary

Within is hiring a Staff AI Product Designer to sit at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering, shaping AI-native workflows with a designer-first approach.

You will define the visual language for core features, build reusable component libraries, and collaborate with product and engineering to translate AI capabilities into intuitive interfaces from concept to production.

The company builds AI that discovers how work happens across teams and applications, structures it into a Context Graph, and is used by organizations including OpenAI, Google, DoorDash, and Stripe. The role is for a Staff AI Product Designer who sits at the intersection of product design and frontend engineering, is designer-first with technical skills, and will define and build the look and feel of AI-native workflows to make complex enterprise tools feel intuitive.

What you'll do

• Define the visual language, interaction patterns, and user flows for core product features and ship them to production, owning the experience from concept to launch.
• Design and evolve reusable component libraries that work in Figma and in code; establish patterns for layouts, interactions, and visual hierarchy.
• Partner with product and engineers to translate AI capabilities into intuitive user interfaces and experiences.

What they're looking for

• Designer first with a strong visual and interaction foundation.
• Experience designing complex software products.
• Have learned to code or are learning to be able to ship designs without waiting on a backlog.
• Expertise with Figma, design systems, component libraries, and interaction patterns.
• Use AI coding assistants (examples listed: Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Replit) to translate concepts into working, near-production-grade prototypes.
• Focus on micro-interactions, transitions, spacing, color, and accessibility.
• Experience shipping AI-native features to production and designing for non-determinism in LLMs.
• Ground design decisions in research and real feedback and own the end-to-end experience from sketch to ship.
