Job summary

Built, the AI-first platform for construction and real estate finance, seeks a Staff Innovation Engineer to architect core systems and drive AI-enabled product ideas from concept to pilot. You will mentor engineers, shape platform primitives, and partner with customers to ship innovative marketplace features.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with backend/distributed-systems fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience shipping 0-to-1 products with real customers in a fast iteration environment.
• Experience building with multiple LLM providers (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI) and document-extraction tooling (AWS Textract, GCP Document AI).
• Experience building agent harnesses, RAG pipelines, or other AI/LLM-integrated workflows.
• Data engineering, ML, or heavy document-processing background is a strong plus.
• Comfort working across the stack in a full-stack-capable role and collaborating with product.
• Experience in financial services, construction, real estate, payments, lending, or other complex B2B environments is meaningful.

Responsibilities

• Design and build durable, reusable services that Marketplace products depend on using microservices and asynchronous workflows.
• Partner with customers to scope problems and ship working marketplace bets within ~30 days, then iterate.
• Improve adoption and usage by optimizing workflows and user paths.
• Develop AI-native features with agent harnesses and layered prompting for automated workflows.
• Collaborate with product, design, sales, and GM on pricing, GTM, and scale decisions.
• Mentor engineers via code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Maintain clear service and API boundaries as the team scales.
