Job summary

Lenovo is building Qira, a next-generation hybrid AI platform spanning Windows, Android, and cloud. We are hiring a Staff Engineer to drive the technical design, implementation, and delivery of critical AI features on Windows and Android devices.

Your work will power scalable, performant, and secure AI capabilities for laptops, tablets, and cross‑device experiences. This role is onsite in Chicago, IL with flexible remote days.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience at a senior level or higher.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • Cross-platform expertise with shared UI/UX codebases using React Native, Flutter, or Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Experience in Android (Kotlin) or Windows (C#, WinUI, or WPF) lifecycles, UI rendering, and memory management.
  • Delivery track record from concept to deployment in consumer or enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Feature Architecture: Drive the technical vision, design, and implementation of high-impact AI features bridging Windows and Android.
  • Deliver High-Quality Product: Architect and ship robust, scalable capabilities using core UI framework to accelerate rollout of features.
  • Ensure Technical Excellence: Uphold engineering standards, code quality metrics, ensuring native feel across devices.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate complex interactions into production features.
  • Navigate Complexity: Balance cross-platform maintainability with native performance and hardware optimization.
  • Mentor and Elevate: Guide mid-level and senior engineers to foster innovation and problem-solving.
  • Anticipate Challenges: Identify bottlenecks and constraints to head off delivery issues.
