Job summary

Lenovo is building Qira, a next-generation hybrid AI platform, and is hiring a Staff Engineer to drive technical design and delivery across Windows and Android.

This role focuses on scalable AI features, ensuring high performance, security, and a native feel across devices. Onsite in Chicago with some remote options may apply, and base salary ranges from $125K to $140K with potential bonus or commission.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong cross‑platform experience bridging Windows and Android.

Responsibilities

• Lead Feature Architecture: drive the technical vision and implementation of AI features across Windows and Android.
• Deliver High-Quality Product: architect and ship scalable capabilities leveraging the UI framework.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: maintain engineering standards and code quality for responsive, native UI.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally with product managers, designers, and platform engineers.
• Navigate Complexity to balance cross‑platform maintainability.
• Mentor teammates to elevate the team's capabilities.
• Anticipate Challenges and identify bottlenecks early.

What You'll Do

• Lead Feature Architecture: Drive the technical vision, design, and implementation of high-impact AI features that seamlessly bridge Windows and Android applications.
• Deliver High-Quality Product: Architect and ship robust, scalable capabilities by leveraging our core UI framework, allowing your team to accelerate the rollout of cutting-edge features.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Uphold engineering standards, best practices, and code quality metrics within your feature domain to ensure the UI feels highly responsive and native across a variety of device specifications.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with product managers, designers, and foundational platform engineers to translate complex user interactions into polished, production-ready features.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $125K - $140K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
