Job summary

Unity Technologies in Mountain View, CA seeks a Staff Software Engineer to raise reliability, scalability, and performance of AI authoring products. You’ll own DevOps practices, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, Terraform, and IaC, ensuring robust disaster recovery and observability across asset generation, LLM inference, and AI tools.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and engineering to shape the Unity AI platform, design scalable backend architectures, and drive cross-team standards for

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping complex, user-facing software at scale.
• Experience delivering and supporting cloud backend services using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in observability, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and debugging tools such as Grafana.
• Strong grasp of software delivery best practices and network security.

Responsibilities

• Influence product roadmap with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical strategy and architecture for Unity AI and backend platforms.
• Design scalable solutions for Unity AI products and push AI agent tech in Unity Editor.
• Improve backend reliability, performance, observability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Run technical spikes for infrastructure needs on Azure and Google Cloud.
• Develop infrastructure and processes for promoting code from development to production with IaC and Helm deployments.
