Sapiom is building the next generation AI infrastructure platform. We are seeking a Staff AI Platform Engineer to define technical direction from the ground up, architect distributed systems for AI agents, and partner closely with leadership to shape technology and product strategy.

You will join early and influence architecture, culture, and product direction while mentoring engineers and delivering production-ready platform features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• Experience operating technical leadership at Staff/Principal level.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Typescript.
• Experience with developer platforms, SDKs or API-first products.
• Experience with modern AI systems, including LLMs and tool calling.
• Ability to drive technical strategy while remaining hands-on.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures or distributed execution systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect the core platform powering AI agents in production.
• Design distributed systems for orchestration, execution, memory, and workflows.
• Build reliable infrastructure for safe enterprise operation of AI agents.
• Lead technical design of platform capabilities; ensure scalability and observability.
• Drive architecture decisions across backend, APIs, and AI runtime services.
• Establish engineering standards for security and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to production.
