Job summary

Arlo is rebuilding health insurance for small businesses using AI across underwriting, operations, and member experience. We seek Staff Software Engineers to design systems powering an AI-native insurer and to turn real workflows into scalable platforms.

You will own product architecture, backend and frontend experiences, and production deployment, collaborating with operational teams and AI engineers to reduce overhead and improve care at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and shipping full‑stack products across modern infrastructure (Python, Postgres, TypeScript, React/React Native)
• Excellent product and engineering judgment in ambiguous environments
• The ability to independently own large systems from idea to production
• High standards for execution, velocity, and code quality

Responsibilities

• Design and ship full-stack products across the insurance lifecycle.
• Build AI-native underwriting systems that synthesize risk and structure data.
• Create claims tooling to automate review, coordination, and document processing.
• Develop internal operational platforms for teams managing millions in premiums.
• Build member-facing products that combine conversational AI and real-time healthcare workflows.
• Design retrieval, memory, and evaluation systems to improve reliability.
• Work with teams to identify bottlenecks and rapidly ship systems to reduce manual work.
• Own projects end-to-end: architecture, backend, frontend, AI integration, deployment.
