Job summary

General Motors seeks a Staff AI Engineer to build AI-powered analytics atop trusted data at Warren or Austin centers. You will craft natural-language analytics that let users ask business questions without SQL or schemas, and drive scalable AI services with strong governance.

Requirements include 8+ years in software/AI engineering, a related bachelor’s degree, and hands-on experience with production AI apps, Python, SQL, and semantic data products. Hybrid work and enterprise-scale data awaited.

Qualifications

8+ years of software/AI engineering or related leadership roles.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
Proven experience building production AI applications and agentic systems.
Strong Python and SQL skills; understanding of data governance and semantic models.

Responsibilities

Build AI-powered analytics experiences atop governed data products and domain context.
Design and develop multi-agent systems and reusable AI services.
Create natural-language experiences that avoid requiring deep schema/SQL knowledge.
Partner with data product teams to use high-quality, contract-backed datasets.
Develop patterns for grounding, memory, evaluation to improve trust and explainability.
Build reusable frameworks enabling domain experts to contribute to BI.
