Job summary

Traba, Inc. is hiring a Staff Agent Engineer to lead the development of our agent platform—the orchestration runtime, eval/observability stack, and integration with WMS/TMS/ERP. You’ll own architectural decisions and drive quality and reliability at scale.

You will work closely with customers, translating real-world operations into durable deployment patterns, and mentor engineers to raise the bar for 0-to-1 builds in an early-stage environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering, with 2+ years in production work on LLM- or agent-based systems.
• Deep in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, with experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models.
• Ownership of a production agent system: orchestration, tool use, retrieval, evals, observability, and latency tuning.

Responsibilities

• Architect Traba's agent platform end-to-end: orchestration runtime, eval and observability stack, and integration with internal and customer systems (WMS/TMS/ERP).
• Own foundational technical decisions: model strategy, harness design, retrieval/memory architecture, and tooling interfaces.
• Spend time in the field with customers and operators, translating observations into durable product patterns.
• Establish evaluation as engineering discipline: datasets, graders, regression suites, experimentation tooling.
• Hire and mentor engineers, setting high standards for quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with CTO, product, and ops on long-term platform roadmap.
