Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking an accounting associate for on-site work at the Store Support Center in Sunbury, PA, with potential for a hybrid schedule. The role requires a BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business and at least one year of accounting experience.

Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for management and auditors, with opportunities to participate in system implementations and cross-train across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business plus one year accounting experience.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with internal and external reporting for financial statement disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for approval by the Accounting Manager.
• Prepare internal and/or external reporting to support business owners to ensure appropriate financial statement disclosure.
• Assist Management with system implementations and testing.
• Prepare analysis for Management and external auditors for quarterly and Annual analytical reviews.
• Keep position procedure documentation up to date.
• Communicate with vendors and internal associates to answer questions and resolve issues, including reconciliation and auditing of company records.
• Investigate and analyze discrepancies and recommend issue resolution.
• Escalates as needed.
• Prepare and run various daily, weekly and monthly reports; sort and distribute for use as necessary.
• Assist with Company projects as assigned.
• Expected to cross-train in multiple department positions.
• Develop reporting for internal or external use as needed.
