Job summary

Weis Markets is seeking an experienced Manager of Payroll for our on-site Store Support Center in Sunbury, PA. The role oversees payroll for salaried and hourly staff across multiple pay groups and locations, ensuring timely, accurate processing in compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in accounting/finance and at least 5 years in payroll, including 2 in a supervisory capacity. Experience with Workday Payroll or similar systems is required; strong cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience with Workday Payroll or a comparable system (e.g., PeopleSoft).
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and hourly associates across multiple pay groups and locations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, reconciliations, W-2s and year-end processing.
• Maintain payroll guidelines to ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and analyze ad-hoc payroll reports.
• Build partnerships with Finance, HR, Operations and IT departments.
• Support payroll system initiatives, upgrades, and testing with minimal store disruption.
• Lead and develop payroll staff through coaching and mentoring.
