Action Behavior Centers (ABC) in Austin, TX seeks a Staff Accountant to own rent payments and support lease accounting. The role partners with Real Estate, Lease Administration, and external landlords to ensure accurate, timely rent processing and month-end tasks under ASC 842.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in rent-focused accounting, strong Excel and ERP exposure, and a detail-oriented, proactive approach in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably rent management (ASC 842).
• Experience with rent management software and ERP systems helps.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly rent payments to landlords accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Real Estate and Lease Administration on terms and schedules.
• Enter lease details into lease accounting software and generate journal entries (ASC 842).
• Review invoices and payment requests for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain organized records of rent payments and related documents.
• Perform reconciliations for rent and operating expense accounts.
• Prepare rent/operating expense analytics and present insights.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation.
• Identify process improvement opportunities in the rent cycle.
