Job summary

Totlani & Partners is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. The role supports daily accounting operations, sales reporting, cash and credit card reconciliations, and sales tax filings while ensuring accuracy of the general ledger.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys investigating discrepancies, and works well in a collaborative team environment. Prior restaurant or retail accounting experience is a plus and strong data validation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
• Experience with reconciliation and sales tax processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily sales activity between financial and point-of-sale systems.
• Perform data validation and quality checks for sales reporting.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Reconcile cash, credit card, and third-party receipts to daily sales reports.
• Investigate payment variances and coordinate resolutions.
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries and monthly sales tax returns.
• Support general ledger reconciliation and timely financial reporting.
