Job summary

Human Appeal is seeking a Staff Accountant to independently manage key accounting functions including bank reconciliations, balance sheet integrity, and month-end close activities. The role partners with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvements, including Dynamics 365 Business Central optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and accrual principles.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivots, reconciliation modelling).
• Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven month-end close environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage bank reconciliations for operating, cash, and other accounts.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries for cash, accruals, deferrals, and corrections.
• Own close tasks and meet month-end deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Support system improvements and data cleanup in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Provide audit-ready work papers and cross-functional support as needed.
