Job summary

April Housing is seeking a Staff Accountant to support a timely and accurate month-end close for affordable housing partnerships. You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, and SOX controls, while ensuring GAAP compliance and data integrity across PMCOs.

The role emphasizes process improvements, cross-team collaboration, and auditing support, with a focus on scalability and automation in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and real estate accounting software.
• Experience with Yardi and FAS or similar real estate systems.
• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting operations including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and provide GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Oversee debt accounting including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare analytical data to support month-end closes.
• Develop and document new accounting processes for efficiency.
