Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant – Payroll & Benefits Specialist in Windsor Mill, MD, offering a hybrid role that blends accounting and human-benefits work. You will manage payroll processes, benefits administration, and related accounting tasks within a mission-driven finance team.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and hands-on experience with ADP and Sage, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, and accounting.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and compliance requirements.
• Experience with ADP and Sage is required.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Analyze payroll data and assist with process improvements and operational reporting.
• Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries and maintain proper general ledger coding.
• Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Administer employee healthcare, dental, vision, FSA, and retirement benefit programs.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and annual reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the organization’s benefits broker.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
• Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
