Job summary

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts’ Sun Valley, Idaho property (opening summer 2026) is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the finance team. You’ll help the Director of Finance manage payroll, income audit, and accounts receivable processing while safeguarding assets and maintaining internal controls.

As part of the accounting department, you’ll support monthly close, revenue reporting, and collections, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely financial information for ownership and operations.

Qualifications

• College courses in an associated or related field and/or related experience in a Hotel or Hospitality environment.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel and basic Word.
• Accounts Receivable and Payroll experience preferred.
• Hotel PMS Opera experience preferred.
• Flexible with long hours during month-end.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, prepare, and communicate financial reports due dates.
• Income Audit and daily BiPortal entry.
• Process payroll using time and attendance systems; verify earnings/deductions.
• Prepare payroll journal entries.
• Manage daily Accounts Receivable, billing, and collections.
• Monitor group payments and deposits; approve/decline credits.
• Conduct collections calls and maintain files.
• Review City Ledger transfers and ensure policy adherence.
• Provide accurate invoices, statements, and schedules to customers.
• Process returned checks and credit card chargebacks.
• Chair monthly credit meetings and maintain related logs.
• Coordinate with Sales/Events on credit and deposits.
• Maintain orderly filing/tracing for collections.
• Update revenue reports for internal and corporate use.
• Monitor guest and advance deposit ledgers for internal control.
• Inform management of anomalies; support monthly close with journal entries.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve issues promptly; escalate as needed.
• Cross-train in Accounts Payable and other accounting duties.
• Identify root causes and implement improvements to processes.
