Caza Outdoors is seeking a Staff Accountant in Buchanan Dam, TX, to own day-to-day accounting execution across a growing multi-entity organization. This hands-on role emphasizes accounts payable, transaction accuracy, and weekly payables reporting, with growth path toward Accounting Manager and Controller.

The role requires accuracy, problem solving, and cross-team collaboration, with opportunities to advance as responsibilities expand in close ownership and process improvements.

Qualificações

• Five or more years of progressive bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting-operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of debits and credits, the general ledger, accounts payable, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong working proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
• Ability to organize a high volume of detailed work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate support.
• A track record of ownership, follow-through, and communicating issues before deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage invoice intake, coding, approval follow-up, vendor documentation, due dates, discrepancies, and open items from receipt through an approved payment packet.
• Prepare the weekly payables and cash-needs report. Maintain a clear list of exceptions, missing approvals, disputes, and time-sensitive items.
• Triage accounting and finance requests; identify action, owner, evidence, and due date; communicate follow-ups.
• Record and review routine transactions in QuickBooks Online and other operating systems; maintain complete support.
• Complete assigned bank, credit-card, merchant-processor, vendor, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end close through journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and variance follow-up.
• Help maintain inventory and purchasing support by coordinating with operating teams and reconciling records.
• Prepare schedules and support for year-end work, tax filings, insurance, audits, and external requests.
• Maintain current SOPs, checklists, approval evidence, and review trails.
• Improve recurring workflows through better process design, automation, and AI-assisted tools.
• Work across stores, purchasing, operations, HR, and outside partners to resolve accounting issues.
