Job summary

Legends Global is hiring a Staff Accountant for on-site work at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The role supports the Finance team with daily accounting duties, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll-related tasks, and journal entries for projects and revenue recognition.

You will maintain fixed asset records, assist in preparing financial statements, and perform variance analyses against budgets and prior periods. A BS in Accounting and 1–2 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year accredited college or university.
• 1–2 years of experience in a position with accounting responsibilities preferred.
• Or similar combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains fixed asset detail records; performs account analysis.
• Assists Director of Finance in preparation of financial statements.
• Perform variance analysis of financial statements to budget and prior periods.
• Enter A/R and A/P invoices, reconcile GL to detail aging.
• Record cash receipts and disbursements.
• Records journal entries for project accounting.
• Record journal entries for revenue recognition.
• Performs account analysis on general ledger accounts.
• Onboard new union hires/ employees.
• Review I9 and payroll paperwork for accuracy.
• Performs any other functions delegated by Director of Finance.
• Audits box office ticket sales reports and reconciles cash receipts.
• Records parking sales per event.
• Records food and beverage sales per event, audits month end inventory.
• Record merchandise sales per event, involved in inventory counts.
