Job summary

Detroit Recovery Project (DRP) is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to support accounts payable/receivable, reporting, budgeting, grant administration, and audits within our Administration and Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager and CFO, you will help maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GAAP and HIPAA requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling confidential financial information while working collaboratively

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years in accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software; strong math and analytics.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and recordkeeping.
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, coding, data entry, and payments.
• Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify variances.
• Produce financial reports and communicate variances to leadership.
• Maintain vendor and employee invoice files and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Assist with grant administration and grant reporting requirements.
• Support audit preparation and year-end close as needed.
