Dark Horse Companies — ROW Vegetation Management & Powerline Construction in Hattiesburg, MS seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 3+ years of experience to own day-to-day financial operations for a growing multi-entity company. You will work directly with the VP of Finance, handling job costing, multi-entity accounting, and operations beyond a typical staff role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience; construction or project-based industries a plus.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel; ERP experience (NetSuite) considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts and manage credit card activity across multiple entities.
• Prepare and issue customer invoicing and manage accounts receivable, including collections follow-up.
• Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable across entities and job classes; support payroll-related accounting entries.
• Support job costing processes and profitability reporting.
• Review general ledger coding for accuracy across projects and crews.
• Assist with recurring operational reporting.
• Assist with regular tax filings and other compliance requirements.
• Support insurance and equipment record-keeping.
• Help with job and crew setup in company systems.
