Pulakos CPAs, a local independent CPA firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide full-charge bookkeeping and accounting services for clients in New Mexico, supporting a Managed Accounting Services department.

The role covers general ledger and financial statements, payroll processing, and related consulting, with a flexible work arrangement that allows office, client-site, or remote work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of payroll, GL accounting and financial statement prep experience.
• Experience at a CPA or bookkeeping firm preferred.
• Formal accounting education is a plus but not required.
• Proficient in QuickBooks; proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Job description

Pulakos CPAs, a local, independent CPA firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and provide professional full-charge, bookkeeping and accounting services for our clients in New Mexico, working out of our Managed Accounting Services department.

The Staff Accountant will work with our clients on:

• General Ledger and Financial Statements,
• Payroll and related reporting and
• General assistance and consultation with related matters beyond basic bookkeeping.

We offer a flexible work arrangement that allows our accountants to work from our office, at the client's officeor remotely as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Required to have a minimum of 2 years work experience in payroll, general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Experience working at a CPA or bookkeeping firm preferred.
• Formal education in Accounting (degree, college classes, certifications) is a plus, but is not required.
• Required experience with QuickBooks.
• Must be effective user of Word, Excel and Outlook.
