Job summary

Pulakos CPAs seeks a Staff Accountant in New Mexico to provide full-charge bookkeeping and accounting services for clients. Responsibilities include general ledger work, financial statements, and payroll, with the flexibility to work from the office, client sites, or remotely as needed.

The role requires minimum 2 years in payroll and GL/accounting, QuickBooks proficiency, and strong Word/Excel/Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of payroll, GL accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Experience at a CPA or bookkeeping firm preferred.
• Accounting education is a plus but not required.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Pulakos CPAs, a local, independent CPA firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team and provide professional full-charge, bookkeeping and accounting services for our clients in New Mexico, working out of our Managed Accounting Services department.

The Staff Accountant will work with our clients on:

• General Ledger and Financial Statements,
• Payroll and related reporting and
• General assistance and consultation with related matters beyond basic bookkeeping.
  We offer a flexible work arrangement that allows our accountants to work from our office, at the client’s office or remotely as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Required to have a minimum of 2 years work experience in payroll, general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Experience working at a CPA or bookkeeping firm preferred.
• Formal education in Accounting (degree, college classes, certifications) is a plus, but is not required.
• Required experience with QuickBooks.
• Must be effective user of Word, Excel and Outlook.
