Job summary

Lydecker LLP in Miami, FL, seeks a Staff Accountant to support financial operations, manage billing and client trust accounts, and ensure GAAP compliance. The role collaborates with attorneys and billing staff to support reporting and day-to-day accounting functions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 2–4 years of accounting experience (law firm preferred), and is proficient in Excel and accounting software, including trust accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience; law firm or professional services preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and trust accounting practices.
• Familiarity with legal billing systems and trust accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and prepare journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform bank reconciliations for operating and trust accounts (IOLTA).
• Support client billing processes and review invoices.
• Monitor accounts payable/receivable and client collections.
• Prepare financial reports (P&L, balance sheets) and assist audits.
