Cogent Analytics is seeking a highly driven Staff Accountant with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5+ years of hands-on experience. You will build and manage an inventory system from the ground up and own full-cycle accounting tasks, using QuickBooks, ADP, and advanced Excel.

The role emphasizes inventory tracking, data accuracy, and proactive financial analysis in a fast-paced environment, with the opportunity to scale our processes and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction or manufacturing background preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and advanced Excel for bookkeeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Sole accounting ownership: manage all full-cycle accounting tasks independently.
• Document control & compliance: maintain immaculate records and audit readiness across financial files and receipts.
• Inventory implementation & oversight: lead the rollout of a modern inventory tracking system and counts.
• General ledger & financial operations: oversee day-to-day accounting, including AP/AR, job costing, and month-end close.
• Systems utilization & payroll support: leverage QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel; assist with payroll-related tasks.
• Financial integrity & analysis: identify variances and present actionable solutions.
• Cross-functional team support: assist peers in financial, inventory, or administrative needs.
• Organizational advocacy: ensure accurate reporting and sound financial stewardship.
