We’re looking for a Staff Accountant II to support the financial operations of Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. In this role, you’ll provide professional accounting services, support the Controller with key fiscal functions, and help ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

Assist in preparing financial, cash flow, and department operating expense reports.
Support day-to-day, monthly, and year-end accounting operations.
Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.
Consult with and advise the Controller or designee on financial operations, including problems and recommended corrections.
Recommend fiscal policy changes to improve efficiency.
Work directly with the hospital’s financial systems and software.
Perform other duties as required by the Controller.
This role involves working closely with our team to deliver effective, mission-focused services and contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a regionally accredited college or university, equivalent education, or more than 10 years of work experience in the financial and accounting field.
Minimum of three years of accounting experience; healthcare experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge and experience in general accounting, budgeting, management information systems, and material management.
Experience working in a highly computerized organization, with familiarity in financial and information systems, auditing, bank/bond financing, cost reporting, and insurance.
Advanced competency in Excel spreadsheet software.
Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance.
General understanding and application of GAAP.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex transactions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language.
Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community.
