Ridgecrest Regional Hospital is seeking a Food Service Assistant for our Dietary Services team in Ridgecrest, CA. You will portion meals for patients and staff, support kitchen cleanliness, and help with sanitation and safe food storage.

This temp role offers 40 hours/week in a hospital setting, with shifts that vary. Basic Food Handler’s Course required within 30 days; English fluency and service-excellence skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic Food Handler's Course within 30 days of hire (per Kern County Environmental Health Services requirements).
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous healthcare food service experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence with patients, families, coworkers and community.

Job Description

We're looking for Food Service Assistants who take pride in providing meals that support patient health and comfort. In this role, you'll help portion and serve food for patients and staff, assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, support food preparation and storage activities, and contribute to a positive dining experience. We value teamwork, attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to safety, and we're excited to welcome team members who bring these strengths to our Dietary Services team.
