Job summary

Knape & Vogt is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Grand Rapids-based finance team. You will contribute to month-end closings, prepare financial schedules, and support internal controls and audits.

The ideal candidate has a 3-year accounting background, a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems. You will collaborate across departments, help expand into new markets, and participate in tax and consolidation tasks.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; strong Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end closing, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for internal and external reporting.
• Support internal controls and tax preparation processes.
• Assist with year-end audit and consolidation activities, including international entities.
• Collaborate with departments and external partners on a regular basis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement as the company expands into new markets.

What You Will Get To Do:

• Assist in the month end closing process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for internal and external financial reporting and compliance purposes
• Assist with policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Support the year-end financial audit and tax preparation process with external auditors and tax consultants
• Support and assist the international consolidation process
• Complete tax filings and support (incomes, sales, property) as assigned
• Assist with tax provision schedules for domestic and international entities
• Work cross-functionally with company departments and external partners
• Assist with the continuous improvement of processes and procedures as company expands into other new and established markets
• Collaborate with various departments within the organization on a weekly/monthly basis

What You Will Bring:

• Work Experience: 3 years of experience working in an accounting or finance department
