Job summary

Gilder Search Group in Eugene, OR seeks a Staff Accountant II to support the Accounting Manager in monthly close, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records. This newly created role blends daily accounting with process improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

You will help with journal entries, reconciliations, asset accounting, and GAAP compliance while interacting with operations and finance leaders. Excellent long-term growth is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum four years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with fixed assets and inventory accounting is highly preferred.
• Manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry background is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare account reconciliations, financial analyses, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Maintain accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, inventory, and related GL activity.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation.
• Support internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Participate in ERP implementation activities and process improvements.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and create meaningful reports.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other departments to support business objectives.

What You'll Do

As the Staff Accountant II, you'll support the Accounting Manager and play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position offers a blend of day-to-day accounting responsibilities and opportunities to improve processes while partnering with operations and finance leaders.
