Job summary

ShiftKey in Irving, TX, is hiring a Staff Accountant I to own a significant portion of our month-end close, focusing on SaaS subscription accounting and marketplace billing. The role offers training and rapid responsibility within a small, deadline-driven team.

The position is full-time and hybrid, based at our Irving head office with a mix of in-office and remote days, typically 9 AM–5 PM. Strong initiative and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter with deadlines and ownership.
• Good interpersonal skills in a small cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses on schedule, in line with the close calendar.
• Own day-to-day SaaS accounting operations, the team’s top priority.
• Support marketplace billing and credit operations, including reconciliations.
• Help design and implement accounting processes for faster, accurate reporting.
• Write and update SOPs for weekly, monthly, and annual tasks and deadlines.
• Support external auditors during the annual review of our financial records.
• Take on ad hoc analyses for audit, tax, and due diligence projects.
