Job summary

Tapcheck, based in Plano, TX, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a hybrid role requiring in-office presence Tuesday–Thursday. You will own the monthly close, revenue accounting, and controls to support audit readiness as we scale.

You will collaborate with Payment Operations, Product, and Engineering, building processes and documentation while ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Spent 5+ years in accounting in a high-growth environment or public/private mix.
• Owned month-end close areas end to end with reconciliation and variance explanations.
• Applied US GAAP to real transactions and prepared audit-ready workpapers.
• Worked with cross-functional teams in Payments, Product and Finance.
• ERP experience with Workday, NetSuite or similar, plus a close tool such as FloQast/BlackLine.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly close areas including journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules and fixed assets.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and clear variances at the source.
• Reconcile high-volume cash/settlement activity across banking partners and rails.
• Support revenue close for product lines, including deferred revenue schedules.
• Document processes, build desk procedures, and prepare audit schedules.
• Partner with Payment Operations, Product, and Engineering to understand transactions.
