First City Credit Union is seeking a Staff Accountant I responsible for daily journal entries and reconciliations across FRB/FHLB accounts, ATM settlements, and payroll-related postings. The role supports financial reporting, accruals, and compliance tasks with attention to accuracy and detail.

The successful candidate will have 1–3 years of accounting experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or specialized study preferred.
• 1–3 years accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting processes and principles.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Detail oriented and accurate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to interact effectively with members and staff.

Responsibilities

• Post daily accounting entries including FRB and FHLB activity.
• Reconcile daily FRB/FHLB accounts, ATM vault GLs and ATM settlements.
• Reconcile the member payroll clearing GLs daily.
• Prepare corporate check validation report for MoneyGram daily.
• Prepare invoice tracking report for card processing and online banking charges.
• Prepare and report membership data for financial reporting.
• Prepare IRA federal and state withholdings deposits weekly.
• Post payroll JV biweekly and accrue salary and PTO monthly.
• Prepare and post month-end accruals.
