Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage general ledger analysis, journal entries, accruals, and payroll forecasting support. You will work with FP&A on forecasts, prepare variance explanations, and assist with audits.

The role requires 1–2 years of payroll/accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of payroll processes and internal controls. Hybrid work arrangement in New Jersey with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
• 1–2 years of payroll/accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and related MS Office tools.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close, journal entries, accrual calculations and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with FP&A to review forecasts and explain variances at consolidated level.
• Reconcile payroll-related tax reports and W‑2 distributions; maintain election records.
• Create payroll reports and support data for audits and management review.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks.
