LifeStance Health in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Staff Accountant I to join our expanding Accounting team. This entry-level role supports month-end close, prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and basic financial analysis under supervision.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, assist audits, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. We value attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and strong Excel skills for data analysis in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or 4 years relevant experience required.
• 0–2 years of accounting or relevant internship experience.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas like XLOOKUP, SUMIF) preferred.
• Netsuite and Blackline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare standard journal entries and assist with month-end close activities under supervision.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
• Support documentation and execution of accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Respond to basic financial and accounting inquiries by gathering and organizing data.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies, errors, or process gaps to senior team members.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend efficiency enhancements.
• Support ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
