Job summary

Geneva Search Partners LLC is working with a well‑established international professional services firm in Chicago to hire a Staff Accountant. This hybrid role offers three days in the office and two days remote, with broad exposure to accounting operations within a collaborative finance team.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, close processes, journal entries, AP/AR, billing, audits, and reporting. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 1+ year of experience, strong Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 1+ year of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Record journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with billing, client invoicing, and collections activities.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial data and investigate account discrepancies.
• Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
