Job summary

FranklinCovey is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Enterprise Division accounting function from Draper, UT, with a hybrid in-office requirement (minimum 3 days/week). You will work closely with the Enterprise Division Controller on month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.

This early-career role offers growth in technical accounting, process improvements, and opportunities to leverage AI, BI tools, and automation within a small division accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent degree/concentration meeting Utah CPA exam eligibility requirements
• Strong working proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial principles
• Eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA exam in Utah or pursuing licensure
• Interest in automation/BI tools to improve processes

Responsibilities

• Monthly Close & Reporting – Prepare journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and schedules for the Enterprise Division close.
• Audit & Compliance Support – Partner with Division Controller on quarterly reviews, audits, internal controls, and SEC reporting as needed.
• Capitalization – Help capitalize expenses for internal-use software or platforms.
• Expense Governance – Review and approve associate and business expenses per policy.
• Revenue Accounting – Support quarterly revenue recognition and deferred revenue schedules.
• Analysis & Special Projects – Assist with ad hoc reporting and variance analysis.
• Process Improvement & Automation – Identify opportunities to streamline workflows using AI, BI dashboards, and automation.
