Orion Placement in Hampton, NH invites an experienced staff accountant to join our boutique public accounting practice. You will prepare federal and state returns, perform bookkeeping, and support tax planning across various client engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience required.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates are a plus.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• CPA credentials/progress toward CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
• Perform bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, account maintenance, and financial statement preparation using QuickBooks.
• Support tax planning and research to help clients make informed financial decisions.
• Assist with audit, review, and compilation engagements and related financial reporting procedures.
• Independently manage multiple client engagements while maintaining accurate, timely deliverables.
• Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members throughout engagements.
• Prioritize deadlines and maintain quality during tax season and high-volume periods.
• Develop broader client-management responsibilities as experience grows.
