Anticimex Carolinas is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team in Matthews, NC. The role maintains the general ledger, supports financial reporting, and ensures timely month-end and year-end close activities.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset activity, and inter-department collaboration to ensure accurate statements and robust internal controls. This is a hands-on, on-site position with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 1-3 years of corporate accounting experience including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
• Intermediate Excel skills with PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across departments.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including cash transactions, accruals, prepaid expenses, intercompany expenses, bad debt reserves, and other accounting activities.
• Record and reconcile daily cash activity.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and reporting.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations within established deadlines.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, sales, and monthly depreciation.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate expense coding.
• Work closely with Accounts Receivable to ensure customer payments are properly posted and reconciled with cash activity.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects.
• Support the development and documentation of accounting procedures and best practices.
• Provide backup support for various accounting functions as needed.
• Contribute to department goals while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
