Job summary

Servpro Industries, Inc. seeks a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in public accounting with a view to transitioning into industry, gaining broad exposure to operations, reporting, and process improvement.

You will work with the Accounting Manager and CFO, supporting month-end closes, intercompany activity, and internal controls while contributing to audits and process enhancements across multiple markets and divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 2–3 years of public accounting experience (preferred audit or advisory background)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP/accounting software
• Experience working with multi-entity organizations
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and intercompany accounting

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliations
• Prepare and record journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support the month-end and year-end close process through preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Review invoice accruals and respond to accounting questions from office managers
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions
• Review financial data and prepare supporting schedules for management reporting
• Prepare payroll-related accounting, including shared payroll allocations and intercompany transactions
• Process and reconcile intercompany activity, including cash receipts and payables
• Support invoicing activities across multiple business units
• Import and reconcile banking activity within QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile payroll data between payroll systems and the general ledger
• Perform income reconciliations and assist with revenue analysis
• Assist with registering new legal entities and maintaining state business registrations
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
• Provide support during annual financial audits and other compliance projects
• Assist with other accounting projects and special assignments as needed
