Job summary

Utility Pipeline Ltd. is hiring a Staff Accountant in Canton, Ohio. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and collaboration across departments to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement while supporting the accounting team. The position reports to the Controller and supports CFO and senior staff in special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting/finance experience.
• GAAP understanding and strong financial reporting.
• Experience with GL accounting and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for gas sales.
• Coordinate across departments for accurate data and reporting.
• Assist with regulatory schedules and tariff filings.
• Support budget/forecast preparation and tracking.
• Oversee fixed asset system and reporting for auditors.
• Pull data from ERP and generate internal reports.
• Review credit card transactions for compliance.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with audits and cooperation with external auditors.
• Participate in KPI tracking and process improvements.
